One of the things I love most about Dollywood, aside from those delicious funnel cakes, is the fact that they continue changing things and adding new additions to always keep people coming back, year after year. This coming year, Dollywood is introducing a brand new festival! The Flower and Food Festival will commemorate Dollywood’s 35th anniversary season. We have all the details on the new festival for 2020.
New Dollywood Festival for 2020
Keeping with the theme of always keeping things new and exciting at Dollywood, the new festival will last from May 8th to June 14th, 2020. Nearly half a million flowers and plants will be throughout the park for visitors to enjoy. Some of the grand displays you can expect to see are turtles, frogs and black bears. Other treats are tributes to “I Will Always Love You” with a floral heart umbrella and “Coat of Many Colors” with a butterfly and scenic sculpture of Dolly’s mother sewing the coat. These topiaries are expected to be between 10 and 15 feet tall. There will also be numerous interactive displays for visitors to enjoy when they are not riding a roller coaster or catching one of the many entertainment shows. Another part of the festival that I am particularly excited to see is the “Umbrella Sky.” This is said to be a visual element of hundreds of colorful umbrellas suspended throughout Showstreet.
Anytime you hear festival, you automatically think of food too. Good news – Dollywood is going to be offering a variety of delicious food options. Here are some of the food and drink options you can enjoy during the Flower and Food Festival:
New Season Pass Option for 2020
In addition to the newly announced Festival for 2020 at Dollywood, they have also added a new option when it comes to purchasing season passes. The “Pre-K Imagination Season Pass” provides unlimited admission for kids born in 2015 and 2016. You can register for this new pass as soon as November 4th.
If you do not already have a season pass, you can purchase it by December 1 and get perks like a free visit to Christmas at Dollywood for 2019 and up to 4 free tickets to bring friends in 2020.
No matter what time of the year you visit Pigeon Forge, Dollywood is always a great option. Although they are closed during Jan, Feb and part of March, Dollywood is the biggest attraction in our area and people love to visit throughout the entire season so that they can enjoy the many festivals, shows and rides. Now, Spring is even more exciting with the new Dollywood Festival for 2020: The Flower and Food Festival.
